Rainford Tennis Club are committed to developing tennis programmes and facilities in the village of Rainford to enable as many people as possible from the local community and surrounding areas to play the sport of tennis.
The Club have recently launched a Development Strategy which highlights their aims to increase coaching, competitions, schools, talent development and community tennis.
Over the past two years, the Club have been extremely successful in increasing participation in all parts of their tennis programme and now need to increase their tennis playing facilities to continue growing the sport.

New courts
To provide more tennis playing hours, Rainford Tennis Club will install three new porous macadam courts at the Jubilee Recreation Ground by the end of 2012.
This would result in the Club having six courts available during the summer season, whilst also allowing all activity to continue on site throughout the winter on the three new courts.
The total cost of this project is £80,000 and the Club are currently raising funds both internally and from external sources. If you would like to help the Club achieve their goals, then please contact us.

Shale Courts
In addition, Rainford Tennis Club is committed to increasing the quality their existing shale courts in the following ways:
- Installation of a court watering system
- Improvements to the quality of the shale surface
- Replacement of lines of all three courts
The Club’s three shale courts have been in place since the Club was opened in 1978 and, due to increased usage, need to be improved. Improvements to these courts will make them a more enjoyable and safer surface to play on for all players.
