Sarah wins Coach of the Year for the Liverpool district
(September 16, 2023)Rainford Tennis Club’s head coach Sarah Hillier has been presented with the Coach of the Year Award by the Liverpool & District League for her efforts growing tennis in the local community.
Over the past 12 months, Sarah has managed the growth of the coaching programme at the Club and also continued to introduce tennis to as many people as possible from across the local area.
Weekly coaching sessions for new and existing players have taken place for both adults and children, as well as free taster sessions for young people from the local Brownies, Guides, Club, Scouts and Boys Brigade & Girls Association. Tennis sessions have also been organised by Sarah in local schools, including Rainford High, Brook Lodge and Corpus Christi.
The number of people attending coaching is at the highest level it has been in Rainford for over ten years and there are already plans in place for this growth to continue in 2024.
Sarah was presented with her award at the Liverpool League Presentation Evening, which took place at the West Lancashire Golf Club in Blundellsands.
