Club Playing Guidelines Update - March 2022

(March 01, 2022)

Following changes to the national restrictions, Rainford Tennis Club would like to make members and visitors aware of the continued guidelines and procedures that are in place to ensure everyone can enjoy their tennis as safely as possible.

All members and visitors  must adhere to the following guidelines whilst using the facilities at Rainford Tennis Club.

  • Courts 1, 2 and 3 (Shale Courts) are currently closed and Courts 4, 5 and 6 (Hard-Courts) are all available for members to book. All court bookings must continue to be made before playing via the online Court Booking System. You cannot just turn up and play.  If you are unable to play you must cancel your booking as soon as possible.
  • Members who play on Courts 1, 2 and 3 (Shale Courts) must brush the courts after usage.  All members are expected to do this and it is disrespectful to other members if you leave the Club without brushing the courts.
  • Members and visitors are still required to pre-book before attending any Club Sessions and Coaching sessions as places remain limited.  Members cannot just turn up for organised sessions without pre-booking, such as Men's Night or Women's Night.
  • Before attending any tennis activity, players should self-assess for symptoms of COVID-19. These are a high temperature, a new continuous cough or a loss of/change to your sense of smell or taste  If you have one or more of these symptoms you should not attend any sporting activity, even if your symptoms are mild. You should follow NHS guidance on testing and self-isolation.
  • Hand hygiene is still very important - use your own alcohol gel to clean your hands after touching a shared surface, including tennis balls, gates and fences, mini tennis nets and court brushes.

Many thanks
